Does the Hillary Camp Have a Plan?

Does the Hillary Camp Have a Plan?

I want to be the Devil's Advocate here.  All of this talk about pledged delegates, Super Delegates, half-vote delegates, etc. means NOTHING until the votes are cast on the convention floor.  Hillary DID NOT relinquish her delegates to Obama, which wouldn't really make much difference because the delegates are only obligated by "promises" - nothing more.

As we know, several bombshells have exploded around Obama in the past months.  The Rev. Wright, Michelle's new found "pride" to be an American, Father Pfleger, his connection with Rezko, his resignation from the church (20 years too late???), quotes from his published books, and the list goes on.  The mainstream media has managed to sweep all of this under the carpet.  Pooh-poohing or ignoring much of it as "irrelevant", out of context, "not the way he REALLY thinks", etc.  What do we really, REALLY know about Obama, other than he has been recognized, without question, as the MOST liberal person in the Senate?

So, let me paint my hypothetical picture.  One or more HUGE bombshells are going to be dropped just before the convention that will make the previous ones seem like firecrackers, and the Super Delegates will run from Obama like rats from a sinking ship. (Hmmm? Rats seems an appropriate term.) Does anyone really think that the Clintons are going to give up so easily? Especially, Slick Willie. He hates to lose.

Anyway, as I said, this is a hypothetical picture, but . . .

Barack "Jimmy Carter" Obama

Barack "Jimmy Carter" Obama

Of all the Democrat presidents from the past, why does Obama choose Jimmy Carter's failed "Windfall Profit Tax" to emulate?  Add Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, et al to the list of "Windfall Profit Tax" supporters.  Don't they know the history of their own party?  Why didn't Carter win a second term?  Because he implemented many of the policies that Obama is expounding.  He didn't campaign on these issues during his first campaign or he would never have been elected.  He waited until after he was elected.

He not only implemented the WFT, but he also emasculated the military, which was rebuilt under Reagan and Bush, Sr., only to be emasculated again by William J. Clinton, leaving the U.S. ill-prepared after the invasion of Iraq.  (FYI, I was against the invasion; however, now, I am dead-set against pulling out and running away with our tails between our legs like Obama, Nancy, Reid, Schumer, Boxer, Feinstein, et al want to do. I am a veteran of the VietNam War, a war we got into after LBJ campaigned " . . . if I'm elected, not a drop of American blood will be spilled on foreign soil . . ." but I digress.  That will broached another time under the topic Barack "LBJ" Obama.)

"IS IT POSSIBLE that America really wants to return to those depressing days of gas lines and leisure suits? Of malaise and shock over the aggressiveness of America's enemies? The days when the policies Obama is advocating raised unemployment rates, interest rates and inflation rates into the double digits? When America's enemies looked the President of the United States in the eye -- and found he really wanted to kiss them on the cheek?"

Barack "LBJ" Obama

Barack "LBJ" Obama

When Barack claimed victory in the race for the Democrats' nomination, this is what he said:

"Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal..."

"The Obama policies -- which are in fact the LBJ policies as presented by a better orator (emphasis mine) -- will in fact fail. The principle behind them -- government control -- simply does not work. If it did Medicare and Medicaid would not be headed toward financial ruin, Social Security would be in the black as far as the eye can see, and the citizens of New Orleans, like the school children of Detroit -- beneficiaries one and all of LBJ's largesse -- would be in an infinitely better place then they are today."

Check out the partial list of LBJ's Great Society programs from the end of 1963 until the end of the last full year of his Presidency in 1968.  Hmm?  Do they look familiar?

"All of this and more, oh so much more, and suddenly here comes this Obama guy insisting that only by electing him can America 'begin' to 'provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless' and cite the Obama-era as the time 'our planet began to heal...' "

What was LBJ doing for his almost eight years?
